About Me

Hello I’m Sean and I was a professional photographer in the Royal Navy for 15 years. During this time I have won many awards in both videography and stills photography, and to date I am the only person to have won the prestigious Royal Navy Photographer of the year 3 times. I have photographed Her Majesty the Queen and other members of the Royal family whilst on official duties and taken many public relation shots involving Prime Ministers and other dignitaries.
However I gained most notoriety from my images of close quarter combat whilst working with the Royal Marines in Iraq and Afghanistan, these images were heavily featured in national and international newspapers such as The New York Times, The Times, The Guardian and The Telegraph.
From my experiences I have developed a great skill of being in the right place at the right time, for anticipating where the next great shot is coming from, and for capturing that shot perfectly.
I like my photographs to tell the true story of the moment, not be a set-up make believe one. I don’t use any fancy effects or trick lighting I just take good quality honest photos.
Originally from Stoke-on-Trent I now live in Plymouth with my wife, our three dogs and three ferrets. I love the great outdoors and when not working I can usually be found wandering around the countryside with the dogs or fishing, but always with a camera to hand.
